Garra rufa, commonly known as the Doctor Fish, is a peaceful and fascinating algae grazer best known for its use in spa therapy, where it gently nibbles dead skin. In aquariums, it’s a hardworking bottom-dweller that helps control algae and biofilm. With a streamlined body and sucker-like mouth, it thrives in well-oxygenated tanks with moderate flow and natural décor like rocks and wood.
