Red Peacock Cichlid

The Red Peacock Cichlid is a vibrant and popular African cichlid known for its fiery red-orange body with shimmering blue accents. Often a selectively bred variant of Aulonocara jacobfreibergi, this cichlid is prized for its bright, electric coloration and relatively peaceful temperament, making it a standout in any Lake Malawi display tank.

Perfect for aquarists seeking bold colours without the aggression of Mbuna, the Red Peacock is best housed with other peaceful Peacocks or Haps. Males show the most intense colouration, especially in the presence of females or rivals. These fish thrive in tanks with open swimming space and scattered rocky hiding spots.
