The Silver Dollar is a striking, disc-shaped schooling fish known for its bright, metallic sheen and peaceful nature. Growing up to 15 cm, Silver Dollars make a bold statement in larger community aquariums and are especially eye-catching when kept in groups.
These herbivorous fish are active swimmers and do best in spacious tanks with plenty of open swimming space and some plant cover (preferably artificial or robust plants, as they may nibble soft leaves). Their calm temperament makes them excellent companions for similarly sized peaceful fish.
